Get To Know Me.

Hey There.

I’m Sophia “Barringhaus” Cirone, a therapist, wife, dog mama, plant-attempt-to-keep-aliver (what is wrong with my fig?), thrift store enthusiast, and lover of old houses

I am passionate about working with adults who feel like they have been labeled as one thing and set aside. Whether that be “not good enough”, “too much”, “not capable”, my hope is to create a space where my clients can shed those beliefs put unto them, and explore who they were before hard things happened. I believe that there is nothing to “fix” in anyone, how we show up in the world makes perfect sense for where we have been.

I work extensively with people who:

  • Have experienced trauma, things that happened to them that should never have.
  • Find romantic relationships and feeling safe in them difficult.
  • Couples feeling stuck in their same patterns and communication.
  • People who are experiencing challenging life transitions (college, parenthood, divorce, empty-nesting).
  • Those who have family dynamics that leave them feeling hurt.

Washington, MO is my hometown, and after 18 years away, I’ve returned to these familiar streets. My career commenced in Nashville, TN, where I worked as a therapist in drug and alcohol rehabilitation before finding my niche in private practice. I hold a Master of Arts Degree, specializing in Clinical Mental Health from Trevecca University. I am licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) in both Tennessee and Missouri.

I’ve honed my skills through EMDR & BSP training, along with training in EFT for couples. My therapeutic approach incorporates an array of modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Parts work, tailored to the unique needs of each individual I have the privilege to work with.
